Meet Mike
Michael & Co. Jewelers is owned by Atlanta, Georgia-native Mike Morton. Mike has been in the jewelry industry since 1988, working for some of the industry’s most prestigious fine jewelers over the years.
In 2004, he opened his own store on Siesta Key, specializing in nautical and sea life-themed fine jewelry. He then opened a new store on the mainland of Sarasota on Bee Ridge Rd in 2013. In November 2020, he relocated the business to the existing location on State Road 70 in Lakewood Ranch, where he has built a reputation for outstanding customer service and impeccable craftsmanship.
As the area continues to grow, Mike is planning to move the store one more time in the Fall of 2026, this time to the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour off State Road 64 in Bradenton.
Prior to beginning his career in the jewelry industry, Mike proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Navy stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.
Mike is an avid soccer player, with a reputation among those in local leagues as a shot-stopping goalkeeper. As a young man, he even played professionally for a short time in Birmingham, England.

Mike has been in the fine jewelry industry since 1988 when he began as an apprentice, progressing in his career to become a custom designer of fine jewelry.
He opened Michael & Co. Jewelers on Siesta Key in 2004, then moved to mainland Sarasota in 2013, and eventually to our current (& sole) location in Lakewood Ranch/Bradenton in November 2020. Come visit us & the two golden doodles, Molly & Murphy, who run the shop.
